Busy Weekend
The Brad and I decided it would be fun to take a Friday night trip to Athens this weekend to catch up with my friend John of Dead Stick Landing at the Farm 255. First, I have to say, I love the Farm. Organic, awesome, rockin' staff, a bar, and an outside stage. With that rambling out of the way, let's talk Dead Stick Landing.
These guys are good, although they haven't gotten much exposure. The music is entertaining, and the instruments played superbly. They have relocated to the Atlanta area and should be hitting some hot spots here soon, although right now their playing field is in Athens. We listened to them rock out then got home around 1:30AM. Good times. If you like jam bands you should check them out HERE.
On another topic, I love Matt Nathanson. Check him out.Matt Nathanson

I'm still working out some kinks to try and get my first band interview completed via phone, so I'm hoping *fingers crossed* the technical difficulties get worked out soon. Music is in full gear, the fun is happening. Send me more good music!

Concert Updates
I just wanted to drop in today and update everyone on some concerts on the calendar fo this month:
Dead Stick Landing will be playing at the Farm 255 in Athens this Friday at 11:00PM. Good tunes, nice guys, check them out if you can.
The Modern Skirts will be playing at The Earl on January 30th at 9 PM. The tickets are only $8.00 if you buy in advance. If you get out and see one local band this month, go see the Modern Skirts. You will be seeing more about this band on the site VERY soon, so keep checking back.
The Disco Biscuits will be at The Tabernacle on January 31st, 9 PM. Also a fun band to see live.
I have some shows posted for February as well, so be sure to View My Concert Calendar located to the right to see what is coming, and to add some favorite concerts you may be attending. The Disco Biscuits

Let's go Nuclear...and by nuclear I mean Margot and the Nuclear So and So's
Bad Brad stumbled upon this band a couple of years ago when we were on a venture to find "new music" and the name stuck out. It was a diamond in the rough find...fresh sounds, good lyrics, great music. I still have not heard much buzz around this band, and when I mention them to friends, there is definitely a look of "What have you been smoking Bee?"
Check them out, spread the word.

Ah, they make me warm and fuzzy on the inside.

2009 and Beyond
Things are happening in the world of Confessions of a Concert Addict so we appreciate your tuning in with us! 2009 is going to be a fruitful year, and for me personally, I hope to hear some music that inspires me over and over again. LOVE IT.
On a side note...I am completely picking up my Vinyl fetish once more. I have not bought vinyl in such a long time, and I truly just love the whole feel of it, and how authentic it feels to me. My next purchase should be coming soon, before the weekend is up *fingers crossed*, as I take a trip to Criminal Records. It's been too long my friend...too long.
So you can see what I am listening to right now, something in heavy rotation with me is Iron and Wine, specifically their song Boy with a Coin. I have been a fan since Such Great Heights in the Garden State soundtrack (wonderful movie with an amazing soundtrack), and I tend to scroll on to this song. I'm not sure why, other than it makes me want to truly freakin' go for any goal I have...it has a nice vibe. The dancing is amazing, and if I didn't think my hands would permanently freeze in a cramp, I may would try it (and I still may!) Also, more recently, Iron and Wine is getting some buzz because they were part of the Twilight phenomenon..good for them.
